Verasha part 1- The Surprise

"Verasha! Come here!" Her sire bellowed down the great hall of their home. Verasha managed a startled acknowledgement as she was awakened out of a sound sleep. Stretching her arms above her head she smothered a yawn behind the back of her hand and walked out of her room. She stiffened as a glimpse of her father could be seen passing the entrance to the hall. He always paced when he was nervous. She wondered what could have upset her father as she reached the end of the hall, nearly tripping her father as he quickly turned on his heel to continue pacing.
"I see you were studying hard again..." He said with a snicker as his gaze passed over her. She bit her lip and smoothed her hair down as he continued to talk. "What was it this time? How to dream?" Verasha blushed as once again she was being scolded for sleeping instead of studying; she was always doing that. It just was hard to stay awake when the night was spent training hard with her best friend.
"The king wants to have a word with us!" His voice quivered a little with emotion as he stood up straight. He knew as well as any one that when the king was resting after another successful battle, he usually didn't descend the throne unless it was to punish some one. "I want you to get ready for his arrival. I've already alerted the house servants... Did Vegeta tell you anything of what is going on?" When she shook her head he continued with a sigh, "Well, then I guess you should be on your way now." He waved her off to her room.
Quietly she walked down the hall and closed the door behind her with a silent click. Leaning against the door for support, she wondered what could have made the king angry at her father. He was a faithful general and was always respectful of King Vegita. She had run into the man a few times while playing with his son in their large cavern of a home. He always smiled at her and didn't seem like the type of man that her sire always warned her about.
Verasha sighed and went to her closet to pick something suitable out. As she slid a long light green shirt over her head, she heard the loud sounds of engines echoing through out the house. Glancing quickly out the window, Verasha noticed the little space pods leaving Vegitesi. While tying the side strings of the shirt she thought of what her father had once told her about the weaker Saiyans leaving to protect them from the enemies of their kind. She was quite proud that she was one of the few girls not to be shipped out. Her mother was a strong warrior and served in Bardock's army as one of the few officers. She frowned at that thought. She really wished that she could have seen her half-brother before he was shipped off... but, he was only her half brother and since Bardock didn't like weaklings it would make sense for him to send his weak son away... Verasha wrinkled her nose. Then again, power wasn't everything. Raditz was powerful but he was also an idiot.
She sighed and walked towards the door, wrinkling her nose as she passed in front of the mirror. Looking around her drawer she found a brush and combed out her wild black hair. Again she daydreamed about having the golden hair of a super Saiyen. Sighing regretfully she put the brush down, now was not the time to be daydreaming. She straightened the shirt and gave herself a final cursory glance before opening the door and walking down the immense hall to the receiving room.
Her father was still pacing in front of the hall and nearly jumped at the sound of someone knocking on the door. Glancing quickly at her, he made his way to the door and opened it with a bow. King Vegita entered quietly but proudly with his son in tow. Verasha sighed in relief at the sight of her friend. He never would have brought Vegeta dressed in only training clothes if they were in trouble, but that just made her curiosity rise.
Vegeta caught her gaze and he jerked his head towards her room. Verasha nodded and slunk away from the entrance and waited until Vegeta caught up. She grabbed his arm and led him back to her room.
"So what happened?" She hissed at him after she closed the door. She sighed as she saw the mischievous look in his eyes. It was going to be hard to get anything out of him when he was in this sort of mood.
"What do you mean what happened? Can't we see our loyal subjects with out having a motive?" He smirked as her tail fluffed a bit behind her, then ducked as she swatted at him.
"Smart ass! What is going on?" She wrapped her tail around her tightly less it betray her fustration.
"Weeeeell... I'll fight you for it. If you win then I'll tell you. If I win then you'll have to treat me respectfully, like you should treat your prince." He wrapped his tail around his stomach and crouched into a fighting stance. "Bet I'LL win, you can never beat me."
She smiled and sent her right fist flying towards his face, that would be first... to get that snotty smirk off of his face. He ducked and dropped to the floor to sweep her. She jumped and back flipped to a crouch then charged at him. He threw himself to the side and neatly avoided her lunge. Gracefully she turned the lunge into a pounce and kicked up towards his face once her hands reached the floor. He blocked her kick with the back of his forearm and sent his ankle into her ribs. Verasha winced slightly as the kick lifted her up, he never 'play' punched or kicked, it was always as hard as he if they were in a real fight. Verasha wasn't about to tell him that he actually hurt her. They both were equally stubborn. His kick sent her backward and she grabbed the front of his coverall to yank him back with her. They both crashed into the desk that she had been asleep at minutes before.
Loud footsteps sounded outside of her door before it was thrust open.
"See Granal? I told you that they would be perfect together." King Vegita said with a bit of amusement.
"Varasha! What in the world are you doing?" Verasha winced at her father's tone and knew that she would get a severe tongue lashing for this. She attempted to get up but she was trapped underneath Vegeta and larger parts of the desk. "Well, what are you DOING?" He repeated, letting his anger enter his voice.
Vegeta surprised her by untangling himself from her to stand at attention. "I'm sorry general Granal. I challenged her and she was merely fighting back." He smirked slightly at his father, who was laughing heartily.
Hardly about to scold the prince of all Saiyans, her sire smirked and nodded at Verasha. "You'll clean this mess up yourself, not the servants. Is that understood daughter?"
King Vegita nodded in agreement, "You too, boy. It'll do you some good." He smirked as he saw his son's tail twitch in anger. "Come now Granal, lets celebrate this occasion." They walked off towards the dinning room.
As soon their fathers were out of view Vegeta punched her arm. "That's for getting me into trouble, stupid."
"HEY!!! You started it. And you still haven't told me what is going on." Verasha stuck her tongue out at him.
"That's because you haven't won yet..." He ducked as she swung at him, "OK ok... I'll tell why my father is here." He sighed loudly and bent down to begin removing the fragments of the broken desk into her garbage can. "My father really likes you, ya know..."
Verasha blinked. "He does?" She vaguely remembered that every time she had seen him, he had smiled at her. Now that she thought of it, that was really weird. He usually kept a scowl on his face around every one else...
"Well, he thinks that you and I would make a good pair or something."
She blinked again, "Huh? Good pair of what?"
Vegeta laughed, "That we would be good mates, silly."
Verasha blushed. She hated it when he knew more than her or mocked her. She always wanted to prove that she was as good as he was... Then the reality of what he had said sank in... Mates? She had never thought about that. Especially not with Vegeta. He was... well... Vegeta. Her best friend in the whole world. As she continued cleaning with Vegeta, she was aware of a little flutter in her stomach. She glanced quickly over at him, only to find that he was watching her.
"What?" He looked away and threw another piece of wood into a garbage can.
"What do you mean what? You were looking first." She sighed, would it be like this between them from now on? Silently she cursed the stupid mateing thing. It was going to ruin her friendship with him, she knew it. She barely knew what a mate was.
He dusted his hands off as they finished picking up her desk, "So, what's got your tail in a knot?"
She frowned and kicked at the wall. "I don't know... I just think this is silly. I mean, what's a mate anyways?"
He sneered, "YOU don't know what a mate is?"
"Neither do you. And where would you learn about it? We're only twelve... Ok, so YOU'RE thirteen, but that doesn't mean that you get taught anything different than me." She flopped down into a chair, searching her mind for the answer.
"I KNOW what it is. You should feel honored, that would make you queen." He smiled evilly and watched her reaction.
She didn't disappoint him. She jerked as if to stand up, sliding then falling out of the chair. "WHAT?"
Vegeta smiled and crossed his arms over his chest. "Yeah, you really don't know what being mates means, do you?"
She sighed loudly and looked up at him. She agilely pounced him, pinning him to the ground. "Ok, enough playing around. What the does it mean already?"
He tired to kick out of her grip but her grip on him just tightened. He sighed, "I don't know why you're being such a baby about this..." He growled at her as her tail smacked him across the face. "Alright then! It means that you and I would be... well... Why don't you ask your father?" He glared at her, but she knew him well enough to see that he was embarrassed.
"I don't want to ask him and I doubt I'd get a real answer out of him. Just tell me already... please?" She mumbled the last word.
He smiled winningly up at her. "Sooo... I don't know exactly what it means. I just know that my mother and father are mates. Your mother WAS mated to Granal, but went off to be with Bardock. It's sort of... more than friends. That's all I know." He kicked both of his legs up suddenly and flipped her onto her back as she thought about what he said.
She just scowled at his action but continued to think. How could they be more then what they are now? Then she remembered the way the older girls and boys would act at parties... Always doing something stupid to impress the other. She devoutly hoped that she wouldn't get like that.
Vegeta tickled her side with his tail. "Helloooo, any one in there? Hey, I want to know what you're thinking about so seriously. You know that this doesn't mean anything to us right now, right? Not until we're old enough does it even count." He smirked, "I thought that you wouldn't mind being queen... But if I bother you that badly I'm sure I can tell father to..." He started laughing as Verasha's tail found the only ticklish spot on him.

Verasha Part 2-Grown Up

Verasha ducked under Vegeta's fist and punched him just above his belly button... Or so she hoped. He neatly folded over her fist with a grunt but recovered with a quick elbow to the back of her head. She fell forward in surprise. Quickly regaining her wits, she threw herself forward even more using the forward propulsion of the last attack to dodge yet another wild punch from Vegeta. Her strong arms took the brunt of the landing and she grunted as she hand-sprung herself into a flip, landing gracfully on her feet. Verasha jumped into the air and gathered her energy for a quick stunning blast when Vegeta fired one at her first. Quickly deciding to use the energy attack to her advantage, she drove herself into it, using her energy to block most of the pain. She smiled at the surprised look on his face as she dove at him, neatly knocking him backwards. Vegeta let out a low growl as he got up, obviously shaken by the attack.
The sound of someone clapping made them both stop and turn. "All right you two. That's enough for today." King Vegita stepped out of the shadows and into the arena. "You both fought well, but it's time for a break. Tonight is a party to celebrate yet another system conquered for the honor of Vegitasei." He said in a rather bored voice. Verasha could tell that it probably was an easy win. "I'd like BOTH of you to be there, and relevantly clean." He glanced over the two he was addressing; both caked in dirt from the arena floor.
"Father we can't get stronger by if we don't train-" Vegeta's protest broke off when his father held up a hand.
"I know how hard you are training. Just take ONE day to relax. You haven't had one day off for a year and I think its high time that you relaxed son. You'll fight better for a day of rest." The king turned and walked away, obviously dismissing any other arguments.
Verasha chuckled at the look on Vegeta's face. She grabbed his fluffed tail and smoothed it down. "Come on, let's get ready before your dad yells at us." She poked his nose and walked out of the arena into the cool outside air. The stars were especially bright tonight and the light from the moon made the street look as if it was still day. Across from the arena was a pub, and laughter as well as other bar sounds could be heard. She took in a deep breath and held it for a while. It was nice to be out and away from the stuffy, sweaty smell of the arena. She had been training hard this past year; only her pride and determination not to be left behind Vegeta kept her training hard. A sigh escaped her lips as she thought about the past years.
After her father and the king had talked about Vegeta and her being mates every thing changed. She got to spend more time with Vegeta, which was nice. They both liked getting into trouble. As she looked up at the stars Vegeta flew past her and yelled, "Race ya back!"
She smiled at the challenge and took off after him. Some things don't change. Verasha smiled; she knew a short cut. As he rose above the busy streets and into the dark sky, she went through windows, hearing a shriek now and then. Putting a little more energy into her flight, she zoomed past him and into the courtyard of the palace.
"Damn you!" He landed a split second behind her. "You cheated!"
She sighed and rolled her eyes, "You are such a SORE loser." As she walked away she heard him grunt at her.
"So you're really going to this party? You know it'll be filled with those idiots...."
Verasha smiled, "Those idiots that happen to be MY friends. That I haven't seen in forever. 'Sides," She smiled back at him, "some of the boys our age are getting cuter."
He stopped in his tracks and watched her walk away "You don't mean that. Boys our age are sooo..."
"So pig headed? Rude?" She sneered at him, "If that is what you were going to say, Vegeta, then you should take a closer look at yourself." She smiled and waited for a snide remark from him.
"Is that what you think?" He blinked then shook his head as he walked past her, "That's cold." He flew up and into his room then shut the window with a quiet thunk.
Verasha just stared up at the window. He had never looked so dejected before. She was just teasing him and it's not like they don't do it all the time, she told herself as she walked up to her room. He was probably just trying to get her to feel bad and then he would laugh at her for believing him. She nodded, that's what he was up to.
It was nice to live in the palace; the rooms were huge and usually full of odd artifacts from different systems that the king had conquered. Her room consisted of three intersecting chambers. One for sleep, one for mild workouts, and one for bathing and such. She quickly went into her bathroom. It wouldn't be good for her to be late to the party, the King disliked tardiness. She flicked the switch and turned a nozzle to the right. The sound of the water made her sigh as she stripped and waited for the water in the shower to get hot. She tentatively put a hand under the water, then smiled. It was hot enough to turn her flesh red; she liked it that hot. She washed herself thoroughly and used some oil to make her skin soft. Verasha laughed at the action. A few years ago she would have scoffed at the idea of 'getting pretty'. Now she enjoyed it... and felt a little silly for doing so. Oh well, she really didn't care if she impressed any one... She sighed and shook her head. There was no use in lying to herself. She truly liked one of the boys her friends had crushes on as well.
Verasha sighed and thought of the silly mate thing with Vegeta. She didn't have to be his mate right now. Neither of them had talked about since that one day a long time ago. They were friends and training partners, that would never change. And if she wanted it then she could dissolve the contract her father had made with the king. Besides, why would he like her? He had most the Saiyan girls lusting after him. He surely could make a better choice... She shook her head to banish such thoughts. Tonight she wasn't going to think about serious things. Tonight she was going to be and act 17. For once.
As she slipped her dress over her head she heard a knock at the door. "Hold on, I'm almost done!" She yelled and quickly tied up the strings of the bodice-like front and grabbed her coat. Verasha wasn't really a vain person but she smiled as she turned about in the mirror. All the training had left her body trim but very well toned. The short blood red dress accented her hips and fitted tightly to her form. Her over coat was black and reached the floor. It had a single button in the front, which made the coat meet at chest level. It too hugged her body. She pulled back some of her hair and put a silver comb in it. One that the boy that she liked had said that he liked.
Vegeta pounded on the door and yelled at her to hurry up. Rolling her eyes at his impatience she yanked open the door. "What do you-" She blinked in surprise at his appearance. He was wearing black slacks with little golden patterns on the end of each leg. Her gaze slowly drifted up and she saw that he was wearing a dark blue shirt that fitted him well enough to be lose, but not baggy. She had never seen him like this. He usually only wore shorts and a shirt, even though the shirt usually didn't stay on long after they started fighting...
He was aware of her gaze and he looked away. "Are you finished yet?" He said it in his usual impatient tone, but she thought that he had been looking her over too, but she couldn't tell. She was to surprised at the transformation of her best friend.
"Umm... yeah. I'm all finished up here."
He took a step back and offered his arm to her, "Well, let' go." He smiled wickedly at her, "Wow, you actually look like a girl tonight."
Verasha blinked then smacked him with her tail. "You better watch it, or I won't go so easy on you tomorrow." She smiled broadly as he fluffed.
"You were not going easy on me and I am NOT afraid of you." He rolled his eyes at her and smiled, "Your not going to give up, are you?"
She stopped to turned and look at him, "What do you mean by that?"
He shook his head and side stepped to the right as two adults walked past them. "I just mean that girls usually don't train at the level that we're at now. If you think that I would think anything less of you if you gave up then you're... right." He smiled and ducked under her swing, "I guess I wanted to tell you that I'm impressed at how far you've come. And I'm glad..." He sighed as he was never much for conveying his feelings. "I'm glad that you're here. I wouldn't like to train with any one else." He laughed, "Any one else would have been dead by now." He turned on his heel and started walking away as she stared after him. "Aren't you coming?"
Verasha shook her head. Some thing was up with him. She knew it by the way he'd been acting lately... Oh well, it was time relax, even for just one evening.

Verasha part 3- Party!

The room in which the party was being held at was huge and well decorated. Immense rolls of dark red fabric hung from the center of the round room to the sides, giving the room the look of a tent. Soft music drifted to Verasha's ears as she descended the great stairs with Vegeta. Some of her friends spotted her and rushed over to talk.
"Look! Isn't this grand?" Horona held up her hand. A silver diamond studded bracelet dangled daintily from her wrist. She leaned forward and said in a hushed tone, "Mikla gave it to me." She leaned back with a smug grin, "Him and Shentoshi are throwing a REAL party." She winked at Verasha as she blushed lightly; Shentoshi was the guy that she liked.
Hetomi sighed, "Shentoshi is sooo cute!"
Vegeta rolled his eyes at the girls and shook his head.
Cazla tilted her head to the side, "What's a matter Vegeta, jealous?" She and Vegeta never got along. He snorted in response and idly looked around for any one else to talk to. Verasha frowned and glanced at Vegeta. She knew that he didn't get a long with most of the boys and she wondered if he even had any one else to talk to. Verasha shook her head. Of course he would have other people to talk to, he's a prince after all. But he was so antisocial...
Jenla glanced at the other girls in their group then politely tapped Vegeta's shoulder. "Do you want to go to the party with us?" She blushed and lowered her head, "I mean, it would be fun. Drinking, games, REAL music. All the fun stuff will be there.
Vegeta shrugged, "I don't know, maybe."
Verasha smiled at Jenla. She knew that the girl liked him. "Come on Vegeta! You can't be boring all the time." She swatted at his shoulder. The rest of the girls giggled at her remark while Vegeta just stared at her.
"Fine. I'll go."
"Don't sound so excited Vegeta, you might strain some thing." Cazla smirked.
Verasha sighed. She knew she shouldn't tease him in front of Cazla. Vegeta didn't mind Verasha's teasing because he knew she didn't mean it. Cazla, on the other hand, meant almost every word and some how got that across.
"ANYways," She gave a warning glance to Cazla, "when does it start?"
Horona laughed and looked around, "It started a little while ago and will last until dawn. Actually, we were about to leave to go their now. Want to ride with us?"
Verasha shrugged, "Sure, why not?" She winced, "Wait, we have to ask the king if it's ok. I know he wanted us to be here."
Cazla snickered, "Gotta' ask daddy dearest for permission?"
Verasha sighed and gave Cazla a dirty look, "No. I said WE have to ask if it's ok. Not just Vegeta. Besides, he IS the king and at least WE get to talk to him." She smiled as Cazla blushed and fluffed a bit. She looked more kindly at Horona. "We'll be right back, ok?"
As Horona nodded Verasha led Vegeta away from the throng of girls.
"See? What did I say? Idiots." Verasha smothered a laugh as Vegeta shook his head. "Why do you like them anyway? They aren't very Saiyan-like."
"Because they're... well, they're nice. I don't know... Hey look, there's your dad!" She stopped and pointed to a spot by the stairs. He held a reddish drink in his right hand and swished it around in circles. She smiled; he looked pretty bored as some female tried talking to him. Verasha was sure he wouldn't mind a distraction.
She walked over to him, with Vegeta in tow. "Ah! Verasha, Vegeta. How are you enjoying the party?" He nodded to the women he was talking to then walked towards them. "Thank you, I was afraid I'd have to talk to that boring woman all night." He looked at Vegeta. "From the look on your face I see you've had a similar run in." Verasha laughed as Vegeta nodded solemnly and smiled. "Now, did you need something?"
"Ummm..." She never knew how to address the king. They had talked on several occasions and he had even called her a friend, but she didn't want to make a mistake in addressing him and then lose his respect.
"Yeeees?" He drawled as Vegeta snickered at her.
"Well we were invited to another party, sire, and I wanted to know if it was ok if we went now." She cringed inwardly.
To both Verasha's and Vegeta's surprise the king just shrugged and waved them off. "It doesn't matter to me. I just wanted to get the both of you away from your training for a while. Go have fun." He sighed, "At least one of us will."
Vegeta rolled his eyes, "I don't know about having fun with THAT group of ninnies- Ouch!" He cried out as Verasha elbowed his ribs. He glared at her while he rubbed his side, "What?! They are too." He stuck his tongue out at her.
Verasha sighed and shook her head at his childish reaction. "Well, their waiting for us so we had better go." She gave her king a deep bow, "Thank you sire for letting us go." She waved as she left, then grabbed Vegeta by the sleeve and gave him a tug towards her, "Come on you scamp. Let's go have fun."

* * * * * * * * * *

The loud banging of music was heard long before the house came into sight. They had to take a ground car; not all of her friends had mastered flying. Verasha sighed. She was torn between pride and regret. Pride because she had come so far in her skills, regret because she was far ahead of the rest of her friends and she could feel that rift. None the less her friends treated her the same way they treated any one else. And for that she was grateful.
As the car pulled around to the front of the house Verasha blushed then shook her head. "Look Verasha," Hetomi nudged her, "There's Shentoshi." Verasha took in a deep breath then lifted herself reluctantly from the ground car.
Shentoshi spotted her and offered his hand. She looked up into his eyes, so deep a color of black that they almost looked blue. His long hair was draped across his back while his bangs hung over his eyes, almost obscuring them from sight. His body, Verasha looked him over as he helped her out of the car, was skinny, but toned nicely. He was wearing black leather pants that hugged his thighs and calves, then covered his combat boots. The shirt he wore almost made her sigh. It was a dark purple and tucked nicely into his pants but the first four buttons were undone, letting her have a glimpse of his chiseled chest. Her eyes drifted back to his face and to his soft, well shaped lips. He smiled as he noticed her looking him over. Which only made her blush again.
"Hello Verasha. I'm glad you were able to come." He lightly kissed the top of her hand. Verasha blinked and almost melted.
"Oh, um, I'm glad to be here." She tried to keep the quiver out of her voice, but lost. Vegeta had gotten out of the car shortly after her and watched the exchange. He now laughed at her nervous reply. She shot him a withering glance then smiled winningly at Shentoshi.
Horona bounded out of the car and nearly knocked over Mikla as she hugged him. Jenla got out with a bit more reserve while Hetomi and Cazla grinned happily at Shentoshi and another boy that was standing near the door, Milav.
Milav opened the door and gestured to enter. "Come on, the party's been going for a while and we only have a few kegs left." He winked then nodded at Vegeta. "I'm glad to see you here, my prince." He bowed deeply, "I didn't think our little party was worth having you here."
Cazla and Verasha sighed while Vegeta just lifted his chin in the air and smiled the usual smug half-smile.
"Like he needs his ego to be any LARGER! Come on, we're all equal here. No showing off and NO ass kissing." Cazla poked Milav's shoulder as she passed him and went into the house. Vegeta snorted and followed her in.
Verasha looked the house over; it was two stories and all the lights were on in every window. The music seemed to pour from the house and as she passed through the door she saw strobe lights and blue light bulbs every where. Most of the people were dancing in the center of the house while a few lingered near another doorway.
Shentoshi lightly put his arm around Verasha's shoulders and leaned close to her ear, "Want some thing to drink, beautiful?" Verasha held her breath and managed to nod. He took her hand in his with a brief smile, then led her around the room and to a sliding glass door. She could see that a mini bar had been set up out side and was being used by a lot of people.
Shentoshi led her to a cooler and dug around in the ice. "What do you want?"
Verasha looked around at all the different kinds of spirits and decided on a green liquid. "The green one." She said and pointed to the large bottle. Shentoshi smiled and handed her the bottle. He offered his arm to her and then led her to a couch. She sat down on the cushion farthest to the right giving him plenty of space to sit down. He chose to sit close to her, close enough for him to put an arm around her shoulders. Verasha sighed happily and leaned back. Tonight was going to be a welcome relief and she silently thanked the king for making them take a break from training.

* * * * * * * * * *

Verasha blinked then opened her eyes again. Her vision was getting blurry and she didn't feel like herself. She shook her head to clear some of the muddiness that she felt. She just couldn't think right and that was frustrating... but she shrugged and smiled. Right now she really didn't care about all of that. At least not while she was being held be Shentoshi. He had taken her to another room, where they were alone. She rested her head on his chest and relished his sweet scent.
"Verasha," he lifted her chin to look at him, "you are the prettiest Saiyan I've ever met." Verasha thought that he didn't sound nearly as drunk as she was and thought about how he'd been drinking out of the same bottle all night... but, in Shentoshi's arms, she quickly lost why that thought was important. Especially when he leaned down to kiss her. His hands caressed her body as she leaned into the kiss. Her own hands ran down his back and then over his smooth chest.
But when his hands pushed up her dress she broke the kiss. "No." She tried to push his hands down. "I don't want to do that... Can't we just hold each other?"
Shentoshi kissed her nose and pushed her so that she was lying on her back. "It'll be ok. You'll have fun too." He chuckled, "Besides, the way you've been drinking you probably won't remember anything."
She pushed at his chest. She cursed herself for having too much to drink... I was hard to move anything well enough to push him off. "No... please..." Her temper flared and she raised her energy level to try to push him off of her. "Stop!"
Suddenly the doorknob rattled. She raised her voice, "Get off of me!" Suddenly the doors burst open and a blur flew in, tackling Shentoshi to the ground. The music abruptly stopped as Verasha struggled to sit up and every one came running to the doorway.
Shentoshi was pinned to the ground by Vegeta. "Never touch my best friend!" He slammed his fists into Shentoshi's face at a rate so fast that they just seemed a blur. Verasha stumbled over to him and grabbed one of his arms as he drew it back for another punch.
"No! Let's just go, Vegeta. Come on, you already beat the crap out of him..." Shentoshi's face was bruised and bloody as he just stared up in terror at Vegeta. "Come on." She pulled him up but then stumbled back and, much to her dismay, fell back onto her butt.
"Yeah, you'd better get going." Shentoshi pushed away at Vegeta and then looked down at Verasha. "You know you wanted to do this, I don't know why you made it such a big deal." He shrugged and started to walk away. "Besides, we don't want a snotty prince or a slut here anyways. You both don't belong here."
Vegeta growled and sent an energy wave large enough to knock every one down. "How dare you insult us!" Shentoshi glanced back at Vegeta with a look of pure fright. Suddenly Vegeta powered down. "Your right, we don't belong here." He gave Shentoshi one last long look and then picked Verasha up into his arms. "Let's go." He walked out the door and into the backyard, where he flew off towards the palace.
Verasha merely clung to him as she tried to gather her thoughts. She couldn't believe all that had happened. Shentoshi had almost... She sighed and held Vegeta closer. She didn't want to think about all of that. She felt a little flutter in her stomach as she thought about how Vegeta had come through for her, but considered it part of being drunk. He had rescued her although she knew that she wasn't very nice to him tonight.
Vegeta flew in to his room through a window. Verasha shook a little, she was cold, she didn't feel right and tonight had been a bust. She didn't know what she wanted more, but right now she didn't want to let go of Vegeta.
He hugged her and then let her stand on her own. She still clung to his neck. "Are you ok?" He pushed her away a little so that he could look at her face. Verasha saw that he was concerned, but another emotion that she couldn't identify briefly crossed across his face. Slowly his hand came up and brushed away some hair away from her face.
"I'm ok. I just don't feel like being alone right now." She looked at him shyly, then blinked. He was amazingly handsome at that moment; a combination of the way he looked at her and the light that hit his face at the right angel, catching his eyes just right.
He nodded and hugged her back to him. After what seemed like forever, he picked her up and carefully put her on his bed. "Get some sleep. I'll be here, so don't worry."
Verasha frowned and some vestige of her old self wanted to tell him that she didn't need him, that she was stronger then him. But she knew that at that minute in time, she did wanted his help. And he didn't say it to be condescending; he was trying to be nice. She relaxed back into his soft bed and drifted off to sleep while he covered her with a sheet.

Vegeta stayed there for a while, watching over her. He knew he had wanted to return to the party and rip Shentoshi to shreds, but he didn't want to leave her right now. As the sun drifted up he sleepily looked over at the window then back to Verasha. "I might as well get some sleep..." he mumbled as he shut the window and closed the drapes. He glanced back at the angel sleeping in his bed then rolled his eyes. His feelings for her made him mad at first, but he knew that it wasn't wrong or weak to love, but he would never admit to her how he felt, not until she said something first. He frowned and wondered if she would ever love him. Common sense told him to quiet his thoughts and go to sleep.
He walked over to her and kissed her forehead, "I love you." He would at least say it first, he thought within his stubborn mind. Carefully he took one of the pillows off the bed, not wanting to wake her up, and curled up on the floor.

Verasha Part 4- Strange Feelings

Verasha awoke slowly at first, trying to sort through the events of last night. While she remembered what had happened, everything just seemed unreal. Silently she blamed all the alcohol that she had drank.
As she flipped over on to her stomach a light snore interrupted her thoughts. Her eyes flew open and for a moment her heart stopped. "Was that just a dream? Did Shentoshi really do that to me?..." Her voice trailed off as she mumbled to herself.
The snore was definitely coming from the side of the bed. The room was dark and she didn't know where she was... Then the more awake part of her mind told her that she was in Vegeta's room. She sighed. That was a relief! He wouldn't ever take advantage of her. Her hand searched for the light that her memory told her was there. Suddenly the room was flooded with light. Verasha covered her eyes and moaned. Damn hangovers!
She crawled over to the side of the bed and smiled down at her friend. He was really cute when sleeping, his mouth slightly ajar and a quiet snore drifting from him. She covered her mouth as she laughed. He looked so innocent and sweet at that moment; it was almost hard to remember that he could be just as snotty and arrogant. Violent too... She grimaced as she remembered the beating Shentoshi got. The rumors would fly, but she didn't care. Her friends were only friends if they didn't take the side of some one that they hardly knew. If they took his side, well that was fine with her. She didn't need friends like that. She grinned down at Vegeta and thought, "Not when I have a friend like him."
Verasha shook her head to clear it of the thoughts that came next. She didn't really want to love him. If she did then what would happen if it didn't work out? Would he not be her friend any more? After the way he had saved her the other night she started thinking more about the feelings she had been trying to suppress for a long time. She knew deep within her heart that she cared for him, but their friendship meant more to her.
But still... He lay there on his back, looking adorable, with a little piece of hair hanging across his face. She reached down to brush it away before she really thought of what she was doing.
He awoke and grabbed her hand, twisted it and pulled up enough so that she landed on top of him with a grunt.
"Morning, sunshine." She said, letting the sarcasm drip from her voice. "It's nice to see you too." She scowled at him, waiting for an apology.
Vegeta groaned and scrubbed his face with the hand that wasn't twisting hers. "Humph. That's what you get, what were you DOING anyway?"
Verasha whacked her tail against his head. "I was... well... Geeze, VEGETA, your snore could wake the dead. I was just trying to get you to shut up long enough for me to go back to sleep." Verasha bit her lip. She hadn't been this close to him in a while. His well-built body underneath her made those thoughts stir up again.... Which she quickly suppressed. That was all she needed, more complications to her otherwise happy life.
Vegeta snorted, "That's funny, it seemed like you were aiming for my forehead." He stared up at her.
After a awhile of him staring she rolled her eyes, "WHAT?"
He sighed loudly and raised his eyebrows. "Do you mind getting off me, or should I just move you?"
Verasha blushed and got up.
"That's better... What I get for being nice to you..." He mumbled as he walked off towards the bathroom.
Her heart sunk. He made it sound like it was an effort to be nice to her. Her thought again drifted towards her true feelings for him. Verasha shook her head, "Why would he like me, any way?" She said softly, looking down at her feet.
"On the other hand, my dear, he thinks the world of you." A voice said quietly in her ear. Verasha jumped involuntarily. "See? You love him, don't you? Or you wouldn't have been so distracted by your thoughts and would have noticed that I had entered." The king looked at her kindly, then frowned. "Word got to me that Vegeta beat up some one at the party you both went to. As much as I like to encourage his fighting, I don't condone what I saw in that boy." Verasha's eyes must have widened for Vegita quickly patted her shoulder. "It's ok. He'll need some stitches and will be out of training for a few weeks, but he'll be fine."
"And who is that, father?" Vegeta was leaning against the frame of the door. Verasha closed her eyes and wondered how much he had heard.
The king got up and made a movement to indicate that he wanted Vegeta to sit down next to Verasha. A glint in his eyes told her that he had done that on purpose. "You tell me. Why did you beat him up? Surely you knew that his power was nothing compared to yours."
Vegeta glanced quickly at Verasha who just stared at the floor. When he opened his mouth, Verasha spoke out. "It was my fault, sire. I was drinking... a lot... and he took me to a back room and then he... " She sighed and frowned, not wanting to share her weakness with the king. "Vegeta was just helping me. I tried to push him off myself but for some reason I couldn't move..." It was her stupidity after all, that almost got her in trouble. She looked up to see why the king had said nothing and saw him trying to control his anger.
"THAT... that... BOY tried to hurt you? To rape you?" He almost growled and Verasha blinked, not sure she was seeing right.
He looked at Vegeta who was watching his father intently. "Good job son. I would have done much the same in your case. He will be punished, I assure you." The tone of his voice didn't speak well of what sort of punishment Shentoshi would receive. His smile was full of malice, "I'll teach that little snot not mess with those of the royal family or to lie to his king." The rage that was apparent in his face subsided a moment as he looked the two over. "You two need to talk." He stared intently at both of them then walked to the door, his step hurried. At the threshold he paused and looked back. "If you don't talk to him about what's bothering you, Verasha, then I WILL. It's about time you two put your pride away and just talked truthfully to each other..." He smiled back at Verasha who had taken in a sharp breath. "I'm not mad at YOU." With that he strode from the room leaving it deafeningly silent.
They sat, not looking at each other. Verasha thought that it might be better if the king talked to Vegeta for her, to see if he liked her... But that was childish. She had more guts then that. Or so she hoped. Verasha shrugged and got up. "Alright, lets go get some training in before we have to wait in line at the stadium."
He just stared at her, frowning. "Alright." He got up and grabbed a bag. "Are you going to train in that?" He pointed to her dress.
Verasha sighed. The thought didn't even cross her mind as to what she was going to wear, and it would take to much time to go down to her room and get some thing. She had to fight not to blurt out what was troubling her. "Mind if I borrow some thing of yours?"
He shrugged and gestured to his closet. "Go ahead." As she was gathering a shirt and a pair of shorts he sighed and leaned against his bedpost. "Mind if I ask what is so important that my father would know and not me?" He scowled at her.
Verasha heisted, "I'll tell you... I'll tell you after dinner, ok?" Right now she needed to get her mind off things and fighting always did that.
He blocked the door. "No, you'll tell me NOW."
She blinked at him then rolled her eyes. "Come Vegeta! Be more patient."
When he didn't move she smiled, "Want me to move you? I will if you don't get out of my way."
He closed his eyes briefly and then stepped to the side, his anger apparent. "Go ahead then." She saluted him as she started to walk to the door, clothes in hand.
"I still haven't proven myself to you, have I?" He said so softly that she wasn't sure that she had heard him right.
"What?"
He walked forward and turned off his light then threw open the curtains. The light hit his face just enough for her to see that he didn't have his customary frown on, but this one looked genuinely sad. He opened the window and lifted himself through it. "I'll meet you there."
Verasha blinked. He had never acted like this before. Maybe he did like her... But right now, she firmly told herself, she wouldn't be thinking of that; she would be training.

*****************

The air was bitingly cold as Verasha flew through the city. It must have been mid afternoon, the line to the stadium was enormous. As she landed she caught sight of Hetomi, Horona, Jenla, and Cazla. They rushed over to where she landed and surprised her with a group hug.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't know that Shentoshi was such a spazz." Hetomi hugged her again.
"Well no one will see him for a loooooong time. He was sent off world, to some distant planet to..." Cazla looked around her and saw that every one who was near to them were leaning towards them, hoping to catch something. "Well," she continued in a hushed whisper, "he got sent to a very distant planet to, and get this, to be apprenticed to the ores man!" She giggled and smiled at the other girls. "I saw when the king came down to speak with him."
"You probably had a good seat, considering you spent the night with Milav." Horona smiled and winked at the rest of the group.
"Oh be quiet you. Anyways, before I was so rudely interrupted, the king came down and grabbed Shentoshi out of his bed! He yelled at him about lying to the king and said that he could be executed for such insolence." She shuddered at that thought, the few executions there weren't pretty. The king could be ruthless when he wanted to, Verasha told herself, and just because he liked her didn't mean that he was kind to every one. Her thoughts drifted back to what Cazla was saying,
"Well, after he admitted that he was trying to take advantage of you," she nodded sadly to Verasha, "The king smiled at him. The eerie kind of smile that makes your hair stand up at the back of your neck. He said that because he acted so dirty towards one of the royal family, that he shouldn't object getting dirty by working with the miners and ore men. You should have SEEN his face, Verasha," she touched her arm, with a sly smile on her face. "He whined for a while about how Vegeta was lying, then the king back handed him." She fell silent as she remembered seeing the act.
"Well don't leave us in suspense!" Jenla nudged Cazla.
"Oh! Sorry. It was just so weird. I mean one minute Shentoshi was talking then the next minute he was on the ground. I didn't even see the king move!"
"Of course you didn't. He is far beyond your power." Vegeta snickered as he joined the group.
Cazla opened her mouth to say something, no doubt rude, when she recalled who had saved her friend. "Thank you Vegeta. I hate to think what would have happened if you weren't there to help." She and the others bowed their head in respect.
"HEY! Get back into the line or leave! You're taking up space!" Some man yelled from the line.
They all got back into line, but quietly talked back and forth to each other. Once in a while Verasha would contribute some thing to the conversation, but that was it. She was too involved in the thoughts that she was trying to stay away from. Some times she would glance back at Vegeta, only to see him staring at her. She sighed. This is what she was trying to avoid and now it couldn't be escaped. She knew she had to tell Vegeta about how she felt and she would do it soon. That very thought made her feel funny. She didn't know what she really wanted from him; part of her wanted to be with him, the other part wanted to keep their relationship to only friends.
***********
Verasha grunted as she hit the floor hard. Turning over quickly, she avoided another blast that Vegeta had sent towards her. The ground underneath her seemed to quake with the force of his blast. Quickly she got up and dove to where he was. Suddenly his elbow caught the back of her head and sent her down to the ground again. Vegeta had the advantage; he didn't have the splitting headache that she had after her night of drinking. It made her movements slow and sloppy. But still, fighting had achieved its desired effect in her, and her total concentration was devoted to it.
The arena around them was totally empty. They had been in the back of the line and by the time they had made to their turn there was hardly any one behind them. Those who stuck around left after they had seen the ferocity in which Verasha and Vegeta fought, and their stamina. Again darkness fell as they fought, not even noticing the change of time.
Vegeta punched at her and she blocked the countered with a punch towards his gut. He avoided it by catching her hand and quickly flipping her over his shoulder. Her landing knocked the wind out of her. When she didn't make any move to get up Vegeta walked over to her and knelt down.
"Are you ok? That wasn't that tough of a throw." He scowled down at her.
"No... I'm alright... I just need... to catch... my breath..." She managed to get that out as she forced air in and out of her lungs. As soon as she had enough of her breathing under control, she got up and crouched down in a fighting stance. "Alright, lets go."
Vegeta shrugged and pounced her, knocking her back. Vegeta looked down at her as she fought to get up. "You need more sleep. It's never been this easy to take you down."
Verasha just sighed and turned her head away from him. She knew her limits and today she crossed them just to avoid talking to Vegeta.
Vegeta released one of her arms to turn her face towards his. "I think my father is right. It's time we put our pride away." He leaned down and kissed her fully on the lips.

Verasha Part 5- Mates?

Verasha blinked in surprise then leaned into the kiss. Her heart fluttered and she felt as though she were floating. At first it was the barest of touches, but as she started to kiss back Vegeta wrapped his arms around her body. Their first kiss became intense, like lightning running from their lips then spreading through out their bodies. They lay there holding each other until a rumble made them both stop and laugh.
Verasha languidly wrapped her tail around Vegeta's waist. "I think that was your stomach telling us to go eat."
He sighed and smiled down at her; she shook her head and groaned. There it was again, that mischievous smile that seemed to always get them into trouble. "What?" He asked innocently; grinning knowingly at her.
"What do you have planned?" She demanded, wondering just what was going on in his mind.
"Nothing." He shrugged and picked himself up then held out a hand to her. "You need to get some more sleep, or at least something for your hangover."
"I don't need anything for it..." She mumbled then closed her eyes as he tapped her head.
"Hurt didn't it? Don't try to tell me that with all you drank last night you didn't get at least a little hang over. I know you better." He smiled lovingly at her.
Verasha blushed and turned away. She needed to get used to that look... Coming from him, it looked almost scary.
Vegeta tugged on her tail and jerked his thumb towards the palace. "I'll race you back?" He didn't wait for her nod and left in a flurry, kicking up the dirt.
She coughed and smiled as she took off after him. Things wouldn't be so different then, as she had feared. Those thoughts swirled happily through her mind as she flew past him, laughing and sticking her tongue out at him. Vegeta grinned evilly. She turned around to see why he was grinning like that when she smacked into a bald Saiyan.
"Oops! I'm sorry-"
"As you should be! How dare you collide with me!? I'm a royal guard!" He grabbed her by the arm and pulled it towards him. "I'll see that you get punished for being reckless and disrespectful towards me..." His jaw dropped as he noticed Vegeta.
Vegeta flew closer to him, arms crossed over his chest. "Nappa! How dare you treat MY mate like that!"
The guard let go of Verasha and backed away as if she were about to strike him. "I... I'm sorry my prince... I was just.. uhhh..." He hung his head but sneaked a peak at Verasha, who was smiling widely at what Vegeta had called her. "I'm sorry princess..."
Verasha shrugged and grabbed Vegeta's arm, "Come on. I'm hungry."
With a last glare at the guard Vegeta flew past him and towards the huge eating area. It was where all the younger Saiyans ate, at least those who trained to become fighters in the royal army. The adults usually ate at home, or, if they lived in the palace, they would eat with the king in a formal dinning room. Verasha liked eating with her friends and talking to Vegeta about how their training went. The smell of roasted beast made both of their mouths water.
"Mmmmm... We're just in time." Vegeta grasped her hand and led on towards the pits.
Verasha squeezed his hand as she followed him; aware of the stares they received. She caught sight of Horona and the rest of the girls. They all smiled at her and gave her a thumbs-up, except for Cazla. She rolled her eyes and then stuck out her tongue. Verasha laughed as Horona threw some food towards her. By that time they had reached the pits.
"A little late, aren't we?" The cook scowled at Vegeta, as if he were the only one at fault. "You're lucky you're royalty, young man, or I would have just given you the rump as punishment. I can't keep cooking the hercan without burning it. And if I didn't keep cooking it then it would be cold, and how would you like that?" He continued his rant as he served them both generous amounts of sliced meat, and from the looks of it, mostly the best parts of the beast. Hercan was her favorite. She didn't really like the other kinds, what Vegeta called game. She had passed on hunting trips, finding them rather archaic.
"And if you think that next time I'll just let this slide you've got another thing coming."
"Thank you cook, it looks wonderful," Verasha said, hoping it might end his tirade.
"Yeah, thanks," Vegeta mumbled.
"It's never too late to learn your manners, young man. It would make you a great king if you remembered that! Now, your father knew his manners when he was your age. It doesn't do anything to your pride or how people see you. Everyone was still afraid of him. Now your grandfather was another story..." Vegeta sighed and listened to the cook as he went on. Although they both hurried to gather the rest of the meal, they nodded here and there to show that they were listening. As Vegeta passed over the greens Verasha stopped him and put a spoon full on his plate. He glared at her but didn't say anything.
The cook nodded approvingly. "Smart girl. You're just what he needs." He glared at Vegeta. "You should eat all those that you can get. It'll make you smarter, faster, and stronger. Just you eat all of those, most people don't, thinking that if they just sit on their plate long enough that they'll absorb the vitamins through osmosis." He snorted and took in a deep breath.
Verasha saw her chance while he paused and bowed graciously. "Thank you. This all looks great." They made their escape and waved back at him.
"Phew! I thought that I was going to be stuck there." Verasha prodded her food. "At least it's still warm." She looked around. "Where do you want to sit?"
He jerked his head towards a door. "Let's go back to one of our rooms and eat. Give us time to talk." He smirked and turned on his heel towards the door. She smiled and followed until her friends came running up to her.
"Well... Seems like you guys are awfully close today." Horona winked at her. Verasha just blushed.
Cazla sighed. "You could have chosen some one with a personality. Or at least some one that isn't so... so... stuck up." She shook her head and looked towards the door that Vegeta had gone through. "Maybe you can change him or something."
Verasha glared at Cazla. "He does NOT need to change."
Hetomi elbowed Cazla and wrinkled her nose. "Come on Cazla, lighten up. If Verasha likes him like that then he must have some redeeming qualities." She snuck in a wink at Verasha.
Cazla just snorted. "Yeah, he's royalty and now you get better food and better quarters." She snickered as the others chuckled.
Verasha smiled and shook her head, "Hey, I'll catch you guys later... I uh... I have somewhere I need to be..."
Cazla smirked, "What? Vegeta's bed?" She ducked as every one took a swing at her. "Hey! It was just a joke!" She straightened and lightly touched Verasha's shoulder. "But really, I think you both will be happy. He IS a good man, even if he is a snot. I wish you luck."
Verasha stared at Cazla. She had rarely said anything nice about Vegeta. "Um, thanks. I'll catch you tomorrow." Quickly Verasha wove her way around the crowd of chairs and back within the palace.
Just as she rounded a corner she jumped and fluffed her tail. "Hey!"
"Hey what? Took you long enough... get lost or something?" He was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Vegeta snickered and took her plate of food away from her. "Come on. I don't really feel like eating this cold." She nodded and followed him back to his room.

************

"She really said that about me?" Vegeta blinked in surprise. They had eaten in silence, both enjoying the warmth and company of each other. Being the most comfortable places to sit, they ate on his bed and now that the meal was over they shared some light red wine.
Verasha nodded solemnly. "She really did say that."
"Hmmm she must have hit her head pretty hard during training..."
"Vegeta!" She scowled at him.
He grinned at her and kissed the scowl away. Verasha sighed and shook her head to clear the tingling that his kiss produced. She didn't want it to seem that his kiss had affected her in the least so she stuck out her tongue. "She's nice! You just don't know her that well."
Vegeta chuckled. "Yeah, I want to get to know her about as much as I want to get to know a plague." He ducked as she threw a pillow at him. "Hey! I'm just being honest." He grinned sheepishly at her.
"You... damn you." She sighed and flopped back onto his bed. "So, what did you want to talk about?"
He shrugged, "I dunno... I just didn't feel like hearing anything from your friends today." He laughed as she fluffed her tail and tried to kick him. "Just kidding! Well... They can be..." He stopped as he looked down to see her glare. "Never mind." He stroked her tail lightly, as his own tail coiled around her waist. Verasha sighed and closed her eyes, feeling very content.
"Hey, don't go to sleep on me." Vegeta said close to her ear. Verasha shivered and opened one eye.
"I wasn't. I was... I was just relaxing..." He had leaned closer to her, stroking her face. She sighed and decided not to talk; it was hard to concentrate when he was this close.
Vegeta chuckled. "Yeah right." He yawned, "But I am tired." His arm wrapped around her waist with his tail, and then lowered his head to her shoulder. "Sleep well."
Verasha put her head against his and wrapped her tail around his thigh. "Good night... my love." She laughed softly a snore answered her.

*********

The next month was the best one, in Verasha's mind, and the most laid back one. She barely went back to her room at all, then moved what little belongings she had in with Vegeta. At one time Verasha thought that they couldn't be any closer, but she was proved wrong.
The king was in an unusually good mood he noticed their union, although he seemed a bit distant. Vegeta had told her once, about how his father and mother loved each other for twenty years until one night had brought them close enough to let their pride down and say what they felt. Eventually Vegeta was born. Only two days had passed since she had given birth, but she still wanted to help Vegita conquer another planet. Still weak from labor, she had left herself open to attack and died before the king could get to her. It seemed reasonable now, why the king had wanted Verasha to tell Vegeta how she felt. He didn't want his son to go through the same thing he had. And by the way he acted when he thought that no one was looking, the pain of his loss was still there.
As they ate dinner with her friends exactly a month after their admission, a clear toned bell rang.
"Hey, everyone listen up! There is going to be a competition coming up to show who was paying attention and who was slacking during training." That was greeted with a few snickers and hearty laughs. "I'm serious! Those who place within the top ten automatically join the elite royal guard. Everyone else has to train harder, you slackers." Everyone laughed as he smiled and winked to soften his words. Their teacher was an unusual man, as far as Saiyans go. He was a great teacher and a wonderful warrior, but he had more of a sense of humor then Verasha had seen in any of the older men. "The competition is tomorrow, every one needs to be there at three... No, obviously NOT in the morning you idiot! Three in the afternoon. Training is suspended that day, so come early to warm up. Anyone that cannot attend, due to injury or sickness, is on a list so don't try to pretend that you're sick when you aren't!" He swept the crowd with a stern gaze. "Prove that I didn't spend all my time training you for nothing... Fight as hard as you can!" With that being said he stepped off of the table he was on and walked away.
The next day was fun, or at least Verasha thought so. She hadn't gotten to see her friends fight in a long time so it was more of a treat for her. Of course, since she was already out of the instruction part of training, so she got to enter the competition later then everyone else.
Hetomi, Mikla, Horona and Cazla made it to the top ten. Verasha laughed as Cazla and Vegeta went head to head. Eventually Vegeta won, but Cazla got in a few good hits. Amazingly they both shook hands after their bout.
The final round held Vegeta and Verasha. She knew that this wouldn't be an easy fight, but she still was looking forward to it.
A flurry of kicks and punches were all that the crowd saw, until one of them would stop to throw an energy blast at the other. After years of training he knew her weakness and she knew his, both tried to use that advantage. Hours passed as they fought.
Suddenly Verasha heard Vegeta let out a low growl. Before she had time to move he unleashed the largest wave of energy she had ever seen. It knocked her back against the wall of the arena. As her vision clouded she saw the surprised look on Vegeta's face. Time seemed to stand still as she slid down, all eyes on her. She fought the blackness that threatened to swallow her, not wanting to lose the fight with Vegeta, but it was too much for her.
